Horror magazine front covers

The first magazine I am analysing is Fangoria. This is a horror magazine that focuses solely on the horror genre of film the title of the magazine is on show and not hidden this tells the media consumer that the magazine isn’t very well known.

The title Fangoria is in a red colour this could represent blood because people tend to link fangs to vampires who are known for drinking human beings blood. The title Fangoria is also made to look like fangs as the F and the A come down into a point and make the title look lie teeth and fangs.

The front cover has a mainly black background this could be because of two reasons the first reason is that most horror film take part at night this would suggest that the film that has the main article on it is going to be based at night. Or the more likely reason why black has been used is because black connotes death this could mean that there is a lot of death in the film that the main article has been written about.
